Semester 1 | Dates June 8 - July 1st, 2015
Course Number: MA301

Welcome to Geometry!  You are probably saying to yourself, “Great, another pointless math class of material I am never, EVER going to use in life.”  Maybe you are happy to hear this, but you are correct.  90% of what is in this course, and in high school math in general you will NEVER use in life.   In my first job interview after graduating college(a manager at a fitness center), my employer did not say, “ok, we’ll hire you, but first, prove these two triangles are congruent by the SAS theorem.”  I get it, but although you will only use 10% of the material in high school math as an application in your life, the thought process is what you will benefit from 100% of the time. Before you begin, please watch “Science of NHL Hockey: Hockey Geometry." I have found a way to make Geometry part of my favorite hobby, and it is my hope you are able to do the same.

Please be proactive and seek help whenever possible. The online environment is full of helpful people and resources.  If you are having a problem, reach out to those around you who might be able to help. Consider the following:
